World's first full-color OLED display


At 0.3mm thick, Sony's 2.5-inch display is the world's first full-color OLED display. Practical applications for this technology include: televisions, computer screens, digital audio players, and even billboards. Unlike LCDs, OLEDs do not require a backlight, which means they are ultra efficient if run off battery power. Sony has yet to set a commercial release date for these displays ;)

Full Color OLED displays have been around since 2003. You might be referring to full color flexcible OLED flexible displays but this display is not the first of its kind either. It is also only a prototype, which means it does not have any reak standing in terms of a record in that it would not meet any of the normal criteria for a working display, Other than that you were pretty accurate.
