Electronic ink display from Philips

Reuters reports that the Philips Readius will be released in mid-2008. Developed by Polymer Vision, this device "is the world's first that folds out when the user wants to read news, blogs or email and folds back together so that the device can fit into a pocket."

World's first full-color OLED display

At 0.3mm thick, Sony's 2.5-inch display is the world's first full-color OLED display. Practical applications for this technology include: televisions, computer screens, digital audio players, and even billboards. Unlike LCDs, OLEDs do not require a backlight, which means they are ultra efficient if run off battery power. Sony has yet to set a commercial release date for these displays ;)
